“To see what is in front of one’s nose needs a constant struggle.” – George Orwell
At the heart of every great Coaching relationship is a doorway to greater clarity for the individual. What a person focuses on and pays attention to in life determines the nature of what they experience. So what are you paying attention to? Where are you blind? And where are you wilfully blind?
Opening one’s eyes to the meaning one has constructed (one’s map of the world) and the limitation this often imposes is an awakening process that occurs during Coaching. There is also a process of personal development that occurs when the individual steps up and takes full responsibility for designing their life moving forward. This process takes courage and often requires the client to develop new ways of being and acting in the world. It also often requires difficult change and letting go of old ideas and patterns of behaviour. All this requires a lot of soul searching to understand what is most important and fundamentally this requires the client to speak and act in accordance with their truth, whatever that may be. As a Coach, I support my clients on this journey to deeper connection and intimacy with themselves.
Who do I Coach?
I Coach those who are ready to take full responsibility as the author of their life story and who have an aspiration to connect to deeper levels of meaning and purpose.
How do I Coach?
I build relationships with my clients based on trust and a deep respect for them as powerful creators and authors of their own story. From this relationship emerges a partnership that supports my clients to find their own answers to important life questions. I hold a safe space for this process to unfold, enabling deeper levels of awareness to grow and develop within my clients as they move towards their goals. I support my clients to take action and be accountable, both to themselves and to the Coaching relationship.
Ultimately, it is the client who must do the work, the client who must set the agenda, and the client who experiences the results. As a Coach I dance in the moment with my clients, but, it is the client who leads the dance.
“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens.” – Carl Jung
Where do I Coach?
Ideally, I like to carry out our first session face to face when geography permits. After that sessions typically either take place over the phone or via Zoom. I also offer face to face sessions for some clients.
